Amberley Museum Part Time Accounts Officer 20-30 hours per week Amberley Museum is looking to recruit a part-time Accounts Officer. The Museum is dedicated to showcasing and preserving the industrial heritage of the South with a vast range of outdoor and indoor exhibits on its 36 acre site in a chalk quarry in the South Downs National Park. A registered charity founded 40 years ago, the Museum is located next to Amberley railway station near Arundel and close to major access roads in West Sussex. The Officer will be working within a small team and reporting to the Director. The post holder will conduct the sales and purchase ledgers, reconciling incoming payments, processing and paying supplier invoices and initiating the collection of overdue accounts using Quickbooks. In addition, the post holder will undertake general bookkeeping and financial management, including balancing and maintaining accurate ledgers, implementing monthly accounting procedures, overseeing and confirming payroll data and payslips, ensuring the preparation and timely payment of VAT returns and tracking bank account balances. Th successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, with a sound knowledge and experience of VAT coding and a working knowledge of Quickbooks or similar accounting software. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are essential, as is the ability to actively self- manage and prioritise work effectively. The post holder will have a sound knowledge of Outlook and Word, with a high capability in the use of Excel, and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
