Highways England have awarded telent the contract for the operation and management of NRTS2 (National Roads Telecommunication Services), NRTS is the network of communication and control that Highways England uses to monitor and manage England's motorways and major trunk roads, it is a critical component of national infrastructure supporting the country's 4,400 mile strategic road network. The contract includes a major technology transformation programme in addition to general maintenance and management of the network; The transformation programme comprises of 11 technology projects, including the introduction of new wireless and IP CCTV services, new management systems and the next-generation upgrade of all technology, this will ultimately enable Highways England to prepare for the future and enable safer roads, more efficient delivery and a better road user experience. Role Profile: An immediate vacancy exists for 2 additional Service and Asset Configuration Management (Data Maintenance) Analysts, to interpret engineering information and enter it into Asset/Service database to defined service levels. This offers a great opportunity to work within the £500 million contract with Highways England. Typical Deliverables: There is a wide range of data that comes in from various sources and you will be tasked with interpreting mainly engineering information, entering it on to our Asset / Service database, in order to define service levels. Extracting and analyzing information from engineering drawings and schematics. To do this successfully you will need to be able to populate system databases with new and changed network information. This will be achieved by redescribing the detail and making the necessary changes. Maintain 100% accuracy of configurated data and its relationships to where it appears within the data information. Carry out alignment checks and reconciliation of configuration data with multiple data sources and the creation, through advanced Excel and Access skills, of readable accurate reporting. Identify and resolve exceptions through liaison and queries with other team members and departments What we are looking for from you: Minimum HNC/HND Above average competency with MS office applications, particularly Excel and Access Competent in the use of cross sheet functions, pivot tables and macros Demonstrable experience in a similar position where a high volume of data is generated from different sources. An engineering or technical background could be beneficial.
