Are you an experienced Finance Manager with an interest in working within the charity and mental health sector? We are currently looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join our growing team in Oxford where you will play a vital role in guiding the organisation in making sound business decisions using financial information to inform business strategy. The role will involve acting as a deputy to the Finance Director representing a significant career opportunity for the right candidate. This is a full time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of circa £45,000 per annum. Response Organisation is one of the largest mental health charities in Oxfordshire that provides housing and a range of support for people that experience severe and enduring mental health needs. In return as our Finance Manager we offer fantastic benefits including: - Up to 25 days holiday bank holidays - Cycle to Work Scheme - Discounted online shopping - £100 towards annual Gym Membership - Childcare Vouchers - Free parking on site - Employee Assistance programme What you will be doing as our Finance Manager: - Record financial transactions for project, department, or company - Preparing financial statements for internal & external use (P&L, Balance sheet, cash flow, banking covenant statements) - Reconcile spending versus budget as part of project costing - Prepare reports, budgets, variance analysis and commentaries of the financial statements - Analyse Response financial performance and prepare short term & long term forecasts - Perform key balance sheet reconciliation tasks and central journal postings - Recommend ways of cost cutting and longer term cost management - Work with departmental heads and management team to help make sound financial decisions - Supervise a team of payroll and payables staff - Assist in year-end processes and statutory accounts preparation - Liaise with external auditors for Statutory audits matters - Develop and manage financial systems/policies - Deputising for the Finance Director in their absence We require an analytical, detail-oriented critical thinker with knowledge of housing and understanding of charity finance regulations and legislations. You must be able to work independently, delegate to and manage a team and have the ability to work to a deadline. You should have either qualified as an Accountant or be on your way to qualification.
