Finance Officer Edinburgh Permanent Role Change Recruitment Group are delighted to be working in partnership with one of our key clients to recruit an experienced Finance Officer to join a growing Finance team based in Edinburgh City Centre. The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager in the provision of a high quality accounting and business support service, ensuring that all aspects of the day to day finance function are managed effectively and that monthly reporting deadlines are achieved consistently. The Finance Officer will contribute towards the provision of accurate, reliable and timely financial and management information and analysis. The main duties and responsibilities will include:
• Responsibility for all procedures relating to the processing of income and expenditure
• Accurate processing of all monthly accounting entries including accruals, prepayments, journal entries, bank reconciliations, fixed assets and that all key balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis
• Manage month end procedures to trial balance, adhering to financial timescales, ensuring all month end schedules are prepared, accurate and reconciled.
• Assist the Financial Controller with the preparation and analysis of the monthly management accounts
• Assist the Financial Controller in ensuring that financial plans, budgets, actual results and forecasts are prepared, analysed and reported Key skills and experienced required:
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of all financial processes from sales and purchase ledgers, nominal ledger through to trial balance
• Previous experience working in a similar role
• Part qualified, seeking to become fully qualified
• Ideally management accounting experience including budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting and variance analysis
• Financial accounting and reporting experience
• Excellent communication skills
• High levels of IT skills in a financial environment
