We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Financial Reporting Accountant. The successful candidate will be confident and pro-active and will undertake financial reporting and analysis to influence the senior leadership team and decision makers within AQA. They will be responsible for embedding strong technical reporting knowledge, with a focus on commercial awareness and will ensure that there are robust communication links with all of Finance and senior management. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a Finance team who are continuing to build a great culture with a focus on continuous improvement, people development and being a valued and impactful team within AQA. We are also in the process of implementing a new ERP system, providing an opportunity to be involved in the design of the system. This role would be a great opportunity for someone who is currently within practice to move into industry and increase their commercial knowledge and provide opportunities to develop within finance. In this role you'll be: providing and developing high quality management accounts designing and implementing analytical reports, dashboards and ad-hoc analysis producing the monthly cash flow actuals with clear analysis preparing statutory accounts and leading on the preparation of information for external audits providing advice on technical accounting and key areas of judgement responsible for VAT and HMRC regulatory matters and returns. Key experience / expertise sought: ability to engage with stakeholders and external networks influencing all levels strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of FRS 102 and consolidated accounts strong planning, management and leadership skills strong verbal and written communication skills skilled in the use of financial systems and tools including ERP good knowledge of accounting policies and strong financial controls good interpersonal skills and willing to make a positive contribution to the company's culture.
