My client, a leading provider of specialist insurance, investment and financial support services. They are now the largest provider of Members Agency services in the Lloyds insurance market. To be part of the Risk & Compliance team which provides an effective compliance and risk management service along the lines of the objectives set out below. Objectives: To ensure that there are in place appropriate systems and controls to ensure that they are able to meet its regulatory responsibilities both to Lloyd's, the FCA and where appropriate a relevant government body. To act as nominated Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Data Protection Officer and where necessary to monitor and oversee and devolved responsibility to members of the team; To supervise the Assistant Compliance Officer and Compliance Support Assistant on a day-to-day basis and assist in the training and development of the team along with the regular reporting to the DRC; To carry out an appropriate Compliance Monitoring Programme including due diligence - or enhanced due diligence where necessary - of new Members, change of control of Namecos and LLPs, Know your Client and Suitability of Advice; To ensure Lloyd's consent is obtained for new Members and changes in control of existing Namecos and LLPs and all submissions are made in accordance with the Lloyd's Bylaws and M&URs; Carry out internal reviews on procedures and controls and thematic reviews in accordance with the Annual Compliance Plan and the Quarterly priorities of the DRC; Provide oversight of the co-ordination of LLV Sales. To assist in the identification, mitigation and management of the firm's Risks Register the reporting to the Board on Risk and Compliance matters. To help anticipate and advise upon regulatory issues arising during the course of the company's natural evolution. Accountabilities: Ensure that regulatory returns/notifications to the FCA, Lloyd's and other regulators/government bodies are made in a timely fashion; Carry out duties of MLRO and Data Protection Officer including reporting to the HAL Board and EXCO as appropriate; Supervise daily workload of the team; Communicate with staff members, including giving formal presentations, and help engender a culture of pro-active compliance. Oversee the platforms for compliance tasks including new Members, change of control of LLVs, Task management, risk register, training of regulated staff and due diligence/ anti financial crime databases; Oversee effective AML systems and controls, production of anti- financial crime management information and review of risk-based parameters used to monitor clients; Ensure all new Member and change of control applications have been subject to an appropriate level of due diligence and submit applications to Lloyd's for timely consent; Carry out and complete specific risk management, internal audit and regulatory checking assignments (which will include checking of client files and advice given); Maintain regulatory and business timetable and ensure all the relevant deadlines are met; Maintain and update procedures manual and ensure it remains current; Monitor Lloyd's and FCA websites and other compliance and risk management sources and highlight new material of relevance. Attend internal meetings/ working parties and take minutes of meetings as requested. Key competencies: Ability to interpret and articulate compliance and risk management in a concise and effective manner; Confidence and ability to put points across in a balanced and measured way to both junior and senior staff members alike; Computer and system literate; Methodical, systematic with attention to detail; Good report writing and presentation skills Ability to produce clear and concise working papers and audit trails Team working and flexibility in a small company environment; Interest in keeping abreast of current issues, to be able to deputise for the DRC, as appropriate.
