Job Details

The Interim Project Accountant will deliver the financial and project governance of construction projects as well as manage the impact on the business including estimation process and project accounting.

Description

The Interim Project Accountant will:

  • Monitor budget movements and provide movement summary
  • Review PO requests and validate against budget and estimates
  • Cash forecast review, monitor spend tracking and working capital performance
  • Reconciling project budget tracker data with SAP.
  • Actively participate in developing project estimates to assist in budgeting process with inputs on project spend and payables estimation
  • Update and review cost avoidance tracking vs budget
  • Weekly reporting of open contracts
  • Manage fixed assets accounting - Develop asset capitalisation schedule complying with accounting policies and ensure transfer from assets under construction
  • Depreciation estimation, Disposal and impairment of assets
  • Review document control function (One drive controls) for compliance and access controls
  • Manage general cost control - Review areas of overspend during periodical estimation process and ensure scope changes are routed through change request process
  • Ensure project deliverables are in compliance with internal controls - Letter of intent, contracts and PO sign offs with appropriate approval flow and relevant budget supporting
  • Ensure budget control with no cross charging costs against different budget areas
  • Ensure change requests and contract variations are adequately documented
  • Manage weekly and monthly reporting on financial status of the project
  • Manage a small team

Profile

The interim Project Accountant will need to be/have:

  • A fully qualified accountant or qualified by experience
  • Previous experience in a building and construction or engineering environment, or commercial manufacturing sectors
  • Previous experience of project accounting
  • Experience of financial analysis and reporting
  • Available and committed to a 12 month contract

Job Offer

C£50,000 plus benefits or equivalent day rate
