Corporate Business Partner - Financial Accounting

Your new role
The Finance Department is looking for a Corporate Business Partner (Financial Controller) to manage the Financial Accounting team.

Your tasks will include:
* Together with your team producing month end management accounts and annual production of statutory financial statements and returns following internal financial regulations and standard accounting practice.
* Implementing the Constabulary's vision, values and priorities by implementing Financial Planning and Strategy, including risk management and audit outcomes,
* Developing key relationships with other non-finance managers within the organisation, internal and external auditors and other regional finance teams.
* Together with your team completing all balance sheet reconciliations, checking payment runs (BACS and Cheques) and CIS returns, and all banking functions.

What you'll need to succeed

• Hold a full CIPFA accounting qualification (This is essential),
• Extensive experience in a financial environment specifically including budget setting, forecasting and preparation of management accounts,
• Experience of managing a team, motivating and training team members,
• Able to provide advice and guidance on complex queries in relation to VAT and taxation,
• Ability to communicate effectively.
