JOB ROLE Working with the Financial Insights and wider finance team, you will play a pivotal role in providing end to end support for the enhancement and development of our budgeting and forecasting activity and its implementation through our Analytics platform. We are delighted to be recruiting a talented Finance Modelling & Planning Manager with strong analytical and system development skills into our challenging and dynamic Management Accounts, Financial Insights and Analysis Team based in Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a Finance team that strives to be best-in-class performance. Your role will be to support the development of the forecasting and budgeting cycles as they move to their next phase. The business has invested significantly in the development of Planning Analytics for weekly and monthly reporting in 2018, this role provides the opportunity for a new focus harnessing this investment to develop a progressive, fully integrated forecast and budget model. The expectations will be that the candidate is able to design, understand, specify and maintain cohesive, interconnected, driver-based models within the application. Based on a top-down approach this will involve working with the various intricacies associated with building out a high level plan down to Central Support Office departmental detailed level. This is a great opportunity to revolutionise the approach to financial forward planning in an ambitious organisation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Work as a member of the Finance Management team, working with the accountants and Business Analysts to build a detailed understanding of all streams within the business. Working with the Finance Systems team to manage the rewrite of existing excel based budgeting and forecasting models in to Planning Analytics, designing a specification for the modification of existing cubes and creation of new cubes, manage the process to develop and test the connectivity mechanisms between each budgetary stream, ensure the reporting and final outputs are fit for purpose and suitably dynamic. Incorporate a high level plan top down approach in to the budget and forecast process, a high level plan which is suitably flexible for changing assumptions, scenarios and overlays. Ensure budgeting processes and reporting is relevant and targeted to business needs. Act in a pro-active manner highlighting areas of concern to senior management on a timely and considered basis. Keenly seeking for continuous improvement within processes. Ad hoc financial planning and analytical tasks as required by the business and agreed by the Finance Management team. This will involve working with various stakeholders within the organisation such as the Procurement, Operations, HR and Revenue Management departments. PERSON SPECIFICATION A successful candidate will be: Substantial experience of working with, developing and understanding Planning Analytics A qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with over 3 years post qualified experience in a relevant analytics role A demonstrable talent for mapping out and planning for model build and system redesign Ability to understand and adapt to the drivers supporting financial performance within a multi-faceted complex business and their wider knock-on financial impacts Swift adaptability to a changing fast-paced environment Ability to build relationships and communicate with people at all levels Ability to work under minimal supervision Excellent Excel skills Excellent communication and presentation skills A self-starter who is able to drive a project forward, foresee potential pitfalls and quickly adapt to a environment
