Sitting as a key part of the UK&I Legal Directorate, the role has responsibility for the design, delivery, maintenance and enhancement of the regulatory compliance strategy and framework ensuring that the UK&I business operates in a legally compliant manner aligned with the standards and policies of TUI Group. With oversight and reporting obligations to the UK&I Board and Group Legal and Compliance on all matters relating to Legal and Operational Compliance at TUI UK&I the role will play a key part in removing risk to the business, its officers and directors. What you will be doing As Head Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for designing, delivering and maintaining the regulatory compliance strategy and framework for the UK&I business ensuring we operate with integrity so as to protect the excellent reputation and brand value of TUI. You will work closely with the Group, regional and local legal and management teams and compliance stakeholders to ensure that the UK&I Compliance strategy is aligned with the Group strategy. Working with the UK&I Board and the Company Secretariat, you will ensure the Board fulfil its oversight responsibilities with regard to its compliance and control framework (including the governance structure that supports it). You will be responsible for proactively keeping abreast of changes to UK&I risk and compliance law, requests from authorities and changes to Group internal guidelines on Compliance and will lead on implementing these changes into the overarching UK&I Compliance framework on a timely basis. You will work with the group and local public affairs teams in respect of horizon scanning for relevant legislative and regulatory development. You will advocate and role-model Compliance to the business and be responsible for driving and embedding this culture across the business. Through your honest, open and transparent style, you will help to ensure we all live up to our individual responsibilities. Where appropriate you will also act as the TUI UK&I compliance representative to external stakeholders. You will lead a small team and influence guide a number of dotted-line reports. The role holder will also be required to: Drive the development and smooth rollout of compliance related policies, procedures and associated training to ensure controls are in place and operate effectively. Continuously monitor the effectiveness of the risk mitigating actions and controls within compliance subjects, and conduct lessons learnt reviews on any material breaches; making changes to policies within remit or making recommendations outside of remit in the pursuit of continuous improvement. Educate the business to be pro-active in identifying compliance risks, escalating them appropriately, and take the appropriate action(s) to minimize risk and prevent losses. Regularly provide an appropriate level of high quality risk information to Risk, Compliance & Control Sub-Committee, UK&I Management Board, Group Legal & Compliance and Audit Committee Executives; ensuring compliance with Group reporting requirements. Oversee the management of the TUI "Speak Up" line activity, including full investigation and consequential action(s) as applicable. In addition to the above, you will work closely with UK&I Legal and HR to support and advise UK&I management on regulatory obligations, including (but not limited to): Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption; Data Protection and Information Security; Anti-Money Laundering & Fraud Prevention; Contract/Supplier Due Diligence; Fair Competition; Trade sanctions. There will be occasions where you will receive out of hours calls (evenings/weekends) from various business areas to provide advice, reassurance and support. What we are looking for University degree or equivalent (law, business administration, social sciences, psychology or similar discipline). Significant work experience in law or compliance in an international company or organisation; operational knowledge in the tourism industry is an advantage Proven understanding of, and ability to practically advise upon, the key compliance topics. Ability to think commercially and strategically whilst ensuring full compliance is achieved and maintained where necessary. Skilled communicator with the proven ability to influence, partner with Senior Managers and coach line managers across the business, including Board level Ability to build strong relationships with counterparts in Group Legal and Compliance, plus key stakeholders in Risk and Compliance roles across the UK&I business. Ability to design and support the implementation of operational plans Excellent relationship management skills. Analytical skills combined with a pragmatic approach to interpreting and reacting to data. Proven experience in leading a small compliance team. Working within TUI group Be Yourself...
