Finance Intern

The role will provide strong support to the UK Field Finance and Commercial team through the provision of timely and accurate reports to help drive regional performance. The intern will also perform key activities to ensure effective month-end processes are met in accordance with Siemens Internal Financial guidelines, and act as a strong support to key business teams including Credit Control and Sales Management.

This diverse and hands-on role offers the opportunity to develop knowledge in how accounting principles work in real business, to build a strong network with finance professionals and have the opportunity to be a part of a leading business.

The Role:

  • Margin performance reports for the Field
  • Sales and orders updates to wider business team including Senior Management
  • Chargeable and Maintenance NCC Reporting
  • OIH / UBCS / Accruals Reports
  • Retentions monitoring plus Qtr provision calculation
  • Debt management reviews with Mobility Credit Control
  • Cost transfer journals
  • Subcon Workflow report
  • FSR Report for monthly utilisation
  • Customer Civils vs. Local Authority Analysis
  • Commission Report for UK Sales managers
  • Holiday Accrual calculations
  • Process Improvements including Finance Innovation

The Candidate:

  • Working towards a 2:1 or higher in an undergraduate degree. This placement will be the third year of the degree (Sandwich course)
  • Interest in finance and related activities with a drive to build experience in this area
  • Confidence to work with Finance Managers and Commercial teams
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
  • Ownership attitude for areas of responsibility
  • Working knowledge of Excel and other MS Office applications
