Change Accountancy & Finance have are working with a fast growing, UK wide client based in the centre of Glasgow. They are looking for a Payroll Assistant to join them on Fixed Term Contract for 6 months. Being part of a small team you will be responsible for payroll covering weekly, 4 weekly and monthly. You will have a solid base of experience to draw from as well as being comfortable handling questions and queries which may arise from a large scale set up. Core duties of the role will include; - Responsible for the processing of payroll with a number of pay frequencies - Coordinating across a number of operational sites to collate and review payroll submissions - Handling staff adjustments and the on boarding of new staff members - Comprehensive understanding of Tax, NI, SSP and SMP, both using government calculators as well as manual calculations - Confident reviewing and extracting payroll data and manipulating within Excel - Excellent customer service skills and putting employees first when handing questions - Lead on payroll process improvements Our client is looking for a minimum of 12 months similar experience in a fast paced and high volume environment where you can demonstrate a knowledge as well as experience gained within challenging situations. Communication and customer service skills are expected as well as showing an ability to prioritise and autonomous in your thinking.
