A leading, independent accountancy practice based in central Glasgow currently requires an experienced Corporate Tax professional to join the team at Assistant Manager level The Company: This is a dynamic and forward thinking accountancy practice with expertise in a range of specialist areas including audit, tax compliance and advisory, business services and accounts and corporate finance. Responsibilities:
Supervise and monitor corporation tax department workflow ensuring corporation tax payment advice is given and CT returns filed in a timely manner. Review draft corporation tax computations prepared by Audit and accounts department. Review of company accounts for tax provision purposes and recommendation of statutory taxation disclosures. Preparation of complex / higher risk corporate tax computations for review by Tax Manager in support of tax provisions to be included in financial statements. Liaise with clients and audit/accounts staff on corporate tax matters. Identify and advise on tax issues arising as part of the compliance process. Identify tax planning opportunities. Manage and develop junior members of staff. Attend client meetings. What's required: Strong technical corporate tax knowledge and be able to answer technical queries from clients and colleagues. Minimum 4 years of relevant practical corporation tax experience. Experience of reviewing corporation tax computations and provisions. Good communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team. Be able to produce accurate work in a timely and cost effective manner. Attention to detail. Ability to proactively manage existing client relationships and to develop new relationships. Positive and enthusiastic attitude. Ability to work to client and statutory deadlines. Previous experience of Iris software useful but not essential CA / CTA / ATT or equivalent is preferred.
