Eden Scott's client is a leading legal firm based in Edinburgh city centre. Due to a period of maternity leave, our client has invited Eden Scott to assist them in the recruitment of a finance manager for a 12 month contract. The role will be based out of the Edinburgh office and will be accountable for the day to day management of the finance team. Responsibilities The fundamental purpose of this role is to ensure that the finance function within the organisation runs smoothly. The role manages a qualified accountant along with several accounts assistants. On a day to day basis you can expect to be accountable for the following; Maintaining the cash position within the business ensuring that cash flow is optimised Managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable team to ensure suppliers are paid within agreed timescales and customers are efficiently invoiced Overview of the P&L reports along with maintaining accrual and prepayment provisions Completion of payroll and associated journal entries Requirements Our client has indicated that applications from either a legal firm or a business services background would be highly desirable. We are seeking a professionally qualified accountant with experience managing and motivating finance teams. The role is highly focused on the business as usual elements of the companies transactions, however there will be an element of stakeholder management/engagement.
