An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a company within Public Sector based near Watford. They are looking to recruit an experienced, part qualified or qualified Financial Accountant. Duties will include: Assisting the Finance Manager with budgeting and preparation of accounts as required Investigating queries by Heads of Department and other budget holders. Monitoring and control of Nominal accounts to Trial Balance. Authorising the payment of invoices by both BACS and cheque Authorising of Purchase Orders within defined limits and budget Regular monitoring of cash balances and bank reconciliations Performing the Payroll reconciliation for review by the Finance Manager Assisting with the administration of investments and other deposits Maintenance of the Fixed Assets register in consultation with the Finance Manager Checking and authorisation of manually prepared journals. Perform ad hoc investigation/ analysis work as required for the Finance Manager Oversee the end of month process and closing of the period and perform/check all related reconciliations. The successful candidate will have Sage 200 experience, excellent IT skills - particularly Excel as a high standard of proficiency with spreadsheets is required. Previous experience of management accounts preperation is also required.
