Your new role: Nigel Wright are delighted to be supporting a well established business in Durham who are seeking to recruit an experienced Assistant Management Accountant who will represent an important support role within the finance team. This role will be responsible for assisting the team with the preparation of monthly management accounts, reporting overheads and dealing with day to day tasks along with the support at year ends during audits and statutory account preparation. Duties and responsibilities will include: Supporting the Financial Controller and the Management Accountant with the month end processes by: Posting journals into the accounting software. Carrying our reconciliations of keys balances. Performing analysis work including reviewing actual spend and explaining variances to budget. Tracking performance and costs. Preparing management accounts for the transport division. Overhead reporting. Supporting with year-end and statutory accounts. As the ideal candidate, you will: Be AAT Qualified as a minimum or part qualified ACCA/CIMA. Have experience of preparing monthly management accounts. Be proficient in Excel - Pivot Tables and Look Ups. Be experienced in using an ERP system. Strong communication skills - comfortable engaging with the wider business to ensure financial understanding. Be a team player with a desire to meet challenging deadlines. Have a positive outlook and enthusiastic approach.
