Our client are looking for a Finance Manager to join the team and take responsibility for the finance function of the business. The business is forging ahead in the waste industry, working with new technologies to ensure that the most is made of our resources. The company was founded in 2012 by two experienced Directors and has since grown from strength to strength, winning industry awards and leading the way in their sector. They are looking for a responsible and proactive Finance Manager to take over the finance department and run it with full autonomy. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to work towards and FD position. You may also be looking to come out of accountancy practice into industry, and this would be a great place to do that. The duties of the role include: Working with the senior management team to make crucial business decisions about the commercial direction of the company Working with auditors Producing high level reporting Managing and training the Accounts Assistant who undertakes the transactional functions of the department Managing the reconciliation of all cash and credit transactions to minimise the risk of fraud and the accurate capture of all revenue; Managing the reconciliation of all sales ledger balances and suspense accounts to ensure that outstanding balances can be analysed and resolved; Creating monthly and yearly P&L documents for the business; Managing staff payroll and expenses payments; Responsible for the weekly and monthly presentation of financial reports to assist the decision-making processes of the business; Other related office duties. The role is supported by an Accounts Administrator, and this person will report in to you. Ongoing training and coaching from you may be needed as this person has recently qualified and is continuing to develop their career. We are looking for someone positive and go-getting, someone focussed on their career with a real hunger for a challenge and make themselves an integral part of the senior management team. You will need to be organised and highly proficient in Excel, with the ability to create relevant reports for the business. The client uses QuickBooks so knowledge of this package would be an advantage.
