Assistant Payroll Officer 24 hours per week (negotiable work pattern) Ability Matters is a leading provider of specialist prosthetic, orthotic, and mobility services throughout the UK and Ireland. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, we aim to deliver a first class service for users whilst applying the most advanced and exciting clinical and technical solutions available to patients. We are now looking to recruit an Assistant Payroll Officer based at our Head Office in Abingdon. The primary function of the Assistant Payroll Officer is to support the Payroll Officer to ensure that the monthly payroll of all UK employees' is processed in an accurate and timely manner and that all payroll queries received from employees are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner Key Responsibilities & Tasks: The Assistant Payroll Officer will be expected to perform any of the following tasks: Prepare monthly payroll data for processing by external payroll Bureau Check accuracy of the data processed Assist in the prompt and accurate accounting of all Payroll costs and disbursements. Assist in the production of all monthly and annual statutory returns, including P35, P14, P60 and P11d. Assist in determining the terms and condition of service and ensure that Employees are paid accordingly following TUPE transfers. Respond to internal and external employee queries within SLA deadlines. Implement Government legislation and Company policy, ensuring accuracy and that all deadlines are met. Liaise with the external bureaus to ensure all international employees are correctly paid Assist in the Administration and Reconciliation of Auto enrolment and other employee Pension Schemes Additional Support where applicable Person Specification: The payroll assistant officer is expected to have: Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels Excellent attention to detail Competence in Microsoft Office products and accounting software programs Ability to work well under pressure Prior experience within a complex payroll environment Provide effective and pro-active service to customers at all levels Support and develop other team members
