The Head of Financial Reporting for M&G and Corporate Centre Entities is accountable for the production of all financial and capital reporting for M&G Prudential's asset management entities (M&G) and for its corporate centre entities including M&G Prudential plc. The financial reporting is for statutory and regulatory purposes, as well as internally for the business, and covers solo entities and M&G Prudential Group submissions. The key output from this role will be clarity and transparency around financial performance of the asset management and corporate centre entities, communicated in a timely manner to all key stakeholders. Key responsibilities of this role: Accountable for the production of all financial and capital reporting across the asset management entities of M&G Prudential (M&G) To lead the internal (including board reporting on statutory numbers; regulatory reporting/capital forecasting) and external financial reporting production and standards within M&G to ensure they maintain the highest standard of integrity, speed, transparency and quality To ensure M&G Prudential meets its statutory & regulatory disclosure requirements specifically for M&G, including production of all statutory accounts To lead the production of the statutory accounts and associate processes for the M&G Prudential Corporate Centre solo entities which include M&G Prudential plc . To lead the production of the M&G Prudential Group external reporting requirements in respect of asset management and Group Head Office entities To develop the capability of the finance reporting team; leading, mentoring and professionally developing people, making best and highest use of talent, fostering a culture of collaboration and promoting and delivering the benefits of working collaboratively To ensure the control environment is fit for purpose for a listed company and to meet regulatory requirements of FCA Work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customer outcomes and a reduction in M&G Prudential's operational risk To be successful in this role you'll have: An Accounting qualification with significant post qualification experience Strong track record of financial leadership within complex, global financial services businesses, some specific asset management knowledge is essential Detailed knowledge of financial reporting regulatory requirements and legislatory frameworks Expert level of knowledge of the financial dynamics of the business and how key factors influence various financial measures Knowledge of M&G Prudential products, systems and distribution methods Expert level knowledge of industry trends, best practice and developments, good networks / links with external bodies and individuals in the same field Significant experience of leading the production and delivery of financial reporting in a Asset Management company Significant experience of leading large teams and of providing leadership to technical specialists Proven experience of leading a function/team through transformational change; able to inspire people to re-align their ways of working and thinking behind a common vision Highly analytical and problem solving skills, with a strong commercial mind-set, and the ability to distil complex ideas or problems into simple, effective plans and solutions The ability to communicate effectively and influence effectively with productive, successful relationships with demanding senior stakeholders The ability to manage tensions and conflicts to achieve outcomes that work for all parties. Strong personal presence and resilience The ability to assess, react quickly and decisively to problems, taking tough decisions where needed.
