The Role Function: Our Credit Controller role sits within the finance department for one of our agencies recruiting into the NHS, and the primary function of a Credit Controller is to coordinate the debts of existing creditors, ultimately managing all money borrowed or owed to the business. Reporting into the Pay and Bill Manager, the Credit Controller will handle the collection of finances and the resolution of account queries. It is vital that a Credit Controller builds and maintains close links with all customers, to ensure smooth running of accounts and encourage timely recovery of payments. Credit Controller role, duties and responsibilities A Credit Controller will be expected to perform any of the following tasks: There should be a close liaison between the credit controller and the sales department so that credit issues are resolved smoothly. Timely and effective collection of all debts and customers payments Negotiating re-payment plans Maintaining contact with clients to ensure invoices are clear for payment Resolving queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices Posting and allocating daily receipts to accounting systems Providing accounts information to internal departments Meet cash & debtor day targets set by the Firm Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales Regularly making contact with customers to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries Undertake account reconciliations as required Other duties as delegated from time to time by the Finance Manager or any other person designated in their absence Person Specification Typical qualities of a successful Credit Controller include: Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels The ability to work in a team and individually Ability to reconcile complex accounts and have excellent attention to detail Competence in Microsoft Office products, XL and accounting software programmes Calm, confident manner to handle potentially difficult conversations What we can offer you Salary of up to £28,000 p.a.
