The Accounting Department at Otter Products is seeking an Accountant to join our team.  Our mission as stewards of Otter’s resources, assets and financial plans facilitates our day-to-day responsibilities of providing accurate and timely financial information to the EMEA Leadership Team, other departments and outside sources. 

This position is critical to the team achieving departmental goals and strategies.  Otter Products is a rapidly growing multinational company looking for a candidate who has experience in accounting and reporting systems as well as managing aspects of indirect tax (EU VAT, With Holding Tax etc) compliance.  Position will report to the Accounting Lead and involves broad accounting knowledge, strong analytical skills and good interpersonal skills.  An ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks with changing priorities is a must.  Does this sound like you?  If so, Otter Products may be a great place to grow your career!

Key Deliverables:

  • Responsible for accurate and timely preparation, completion and filing of group VAT returns and all trade compliance work (VAT returns, ESL, intrastat, annual returns, voluntary disclosures, where applicable, and any other ad hoc returnss)
  • Assist with production of group monthly management accounts, including P&L accounts, KPI’s and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Support the review and analysis of group GL codes – report on variance drivers
  • Manage intercompany accounts processing & reconciliations
  • Assist in preparation of group-audited accounts and liaise with external auditors
  • Work closely with accounting lead on preparation of annual group budgets
  • Responsible for subsidiary cash flow management, including preparing and updating cash flow projections to support group cash flow management
  • Ensure accounting systems and policies are adhered to
  • Provide support to AR & AP functions as required
  • Support Accounting Lead on group Corporation Tax filings
  • Responsible for key partner account management –partnering with relevant internal stakeholders to resolve account escalations and reconciliations
  • Support Accounting Lead with maintenance of banking relationships
  • Exercise superior professional judgment to do what is right for the company and the customer at all times
  • Demonstrate an adaptability and openness to change, whether it be in objectives, roles, procedures
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant – minimum 3 years’ PQE within a medium to large company – EMEA wide experience is required
  • Understanding of EU VAT is essential
  • Experience working with an Accounting ERP system is required
  • Strong track record of assisting with month end close for a variety of EU countries is required
  • Experience working in a broad hands on accounting role is high advantageous
  • Accurate attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office® and ability to quickly learn new programs
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, problem solve, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of internal & external stakeholders
  • Ability to be the best steward of company resources, conducting oneself in a way that radiates integrity, honesty and trust
  • Willingness to learn and evolve with an ever changing department, company and field
  • Fluent written & verbal English is required. Another European language would be highly desirable
