Are you a qualified Accountant looking for a new challenge with a large, real estate business? Are you looking to use your experience and break the "groundhog day" of month end? Interested in commercial finance and debt structuring? Places for People have a unique role that will place you between our treasury team, our Development Accountants and development teams across the Group. You will analyse potential, and existing, finance agreements on development projects across various residential sectors including for example (retirement, student and PRS), monitoring them against our development projects and making recommendations to the Head of Corporate Finance and other stakeholders on their financial performance. What your role will be You will be a central point of contact between a number of our Group businesses, providing finance and accounting expertise on the Group's secured borrowings on residential development projects to help deliver the Group's wider objectives. You will understand and carry out analysis on residential development schemes to establish required project funding. With a thorough understanding of each opportunity you will work closely with the treasury team to review bank's lending terms to ensure prospective developments can go ahead, or to ensure current developments remain viable and profitable. You will also ensure each development finance agreement is in line with the Group's overall funding and treasury policy. Your background You will be a qualified Accountant, with a strong financial accounting background. Previous experience of corporate finance would be a bonus, but not absolutely essential. You will also have a commercial mindset and be able to explain to, and in some cases influence, stakeholders your proposed course of action. Although initially the role will involve you in analysing and making recommendations there is scope for this role to involve you in wider corporate finance work for the Group's wider funding arrangements. You must also possess strong Excel skills and be comfortable analysing complex development models to ensure you extract the data required to fully understand the debt requirements and costings for the full life time of long term development cycles. What we offer you This is a new role for Places for People. We offer you the unique chance to join us and put your mark on which developments are funded and how we work with external lenders. We have big plans and are ambitious about the future. This position could grow and your expertise could help the Group's finance function overall. You will have the help and support of the many teams you work alongside and liaise with. If you enjoy collaborating and working as a team, this is the perfect role for you. About us We don't just build houses, we create and manage places, and the places we create stand out. We offer housing for everyone, from affordable housing right through to outright commercial sales, and all designed to meet people's needs and aspirations. We are not just about property, we provide a range of products and services that help make places work, from leisure services to financial products. What's next?
