Reporting into the Finance Manager, the role is pivotal to the Finance Centre of Expertise, taking ownership of Statutory Accounts, Balance Sheet reviews, VAT and Corporation Tax as well as other ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Finance Manager. This role will have responsibility for monthly legal entity reviews, annual audited accounts and enhancing the reporting to the Finance Manager on various aspects of the Balance Sheet. The individual will need to liaise with the accounts payable function as well as Finance Business Partners to build an understanding of revenues earned and costs incurred by the business. We are looking for an individual who is confident utilising financial systems to make processes more efficient and has great attention to detail as well as a thorough understanding of UK GAAP and VAT rules. Responsibilities Preparation of annual audited accounts Monthly Balance Sheet review and reporting on internal finance KPIs such as aged debtors and creditors Reconciliation of control accounts Preparation and filing of VAT returns Working with our People division on PAYE, Apprenticeship levy, P11D Ensure controls within the Finance team are adhered to Maintaining, interpreting and reporting of timely and accurate financial data Documenting accounting policies and updating as required Ad-hoc requests as directed by manager Qualifications Focused on solutions rather than problems Responds quickly to changing work demands Works effectively within a team and engages in giving and receiving feedback Works efficiently and communicates in a professional manner.
