The key responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant will include, but not limited to: Analyse complex problems relating to business case production and analysis. Assist in the completion of other monitoring returns, both internal and external, including Annual Accounts, Financial Returns and Reference Costs, as directed by the Head of Financial Management Accounts Knowledge of a range of finance systems and procedures including payroll , cash management (payments and invoicing) and VAT implications to ensure appropriate management of directorate financial resources. Assume responsibilities for specific/ad-hoc Trust wide duties, liaising with Management Accountants where appropriate. Perform such other duties as may be directed from time to time by Senior Finance Managers. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: Studying towards a professional qualification e.g. AAT/CIMA/ACCA Ideally previous experience in an Assistant Accountant type role A good knowledge of computer based management accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications. Strong numerical skills, ability to understand financial information Excellent organisational and time management skills. Knowledge of a range of finance systems including Payroll, Payments and Invoicing Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines Good Communicator Confident Self Motivated Team Worker The client is a well known and national organisation within the Public Sector and Government industries located in Exeter Devon.
