We have a 3 month (minimum) temporary vacancy available (with a possibility of a permanent position) to manage and oversee the checking, possible re-structuring and improvement of our accounts department, working part-time or full-time. The ultimate aim is to input the daily operational data into the current system, re-organise the ledger files as required and export the data to provide accurate and regular management information. This role involves working alongside the small finance & admin team to make sure all accounts and bookkeeping tasks are accurately completed daily, and to provide holiday cover for certain bookkeeping tasks. This position suits a highly organised individual who is capable of learning new processes and software quickly. An eye for detail, an ability to follow a procedure closely and the ability to use your own initiative to solve queries is essential. The successful applicant will have a solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications. An understanding of bookkeeping tasks is essential. Training on our procedures and software will be given. Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following: Daily bank postings / reconciliations Allocate / Reconcile / enter customer payments Credit control Resolve Customer Queries Process Credit Application Forms by consulting Creditsafe website and contacting references stated on form Process Supplier invoices Query purchase order Timely handling of supplier invoice/stock queries Reconcile, query, file supplier statements Make payments to vendors for goods / services Reconciliation of all control accounts Cash book / Petty Cash transactions ensuring all cash is accounted for Bank cash and cheques Complete and return monthly Value Added Tax EC Sales List General Office Duties The applicant will be able to meet the following expectations: A minimum of 2 years bookkeeping experience is required AAT Intermediate / Level 2, NVQ Level 3 We use Sage for payroll and experience of this accounting package is preferred but not essential.
