Al-Khair Foundation is a UK registered charity working to deliver humanitarian and development projects worldwide. The Finance Department manages all aspects of financial management including financial and management accounts, statutory accounts and investments. It also provides professional support on all Al-Khair activities in the UK, including broadcasting (TV stations), schools and international programmes. The Finance Officer is required to assist in the efficient and effective delivery of payroll, financial accounting and management accounts for Al-Khair and its subsidiaries/projects; and to work with the Finance Manager to provide administrative and accounting support to service Al-Khair's Finance Department. The key responsibilities of this role will be the processing of payroll, including starters and leavers; data submission to NEST; correct processing of Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), Attachment of Earnings, production and issue of e-payslips, liaising with HMRC on the processing and completion of P60 and P11Ds, plus processing and submission of P45 and P46s as appropriate; and resolving payroll queries. The post-holder will also be required to liaise with the HR Team for submission of staff attendance records, incorporating any changes which might be needed for the periodical salary; plus keep up to date records of staff attendance, leaves, pensions and other benefits; keep abreast of all current, new and up-coming changes and statutory requirements and incorporating them in company's payroll and accounts. Furthermore, the Finance Officer will assist the Finance Department on all aspects of financial policy, including statutory requirements, best practice and the development of new initiatives; maintain the financial accounting systems to achieve maximum efficiency within the department; prepare and present documents from a number of sources as advised by the Finance Manager; maintain Gift Aid claims records and other government/Inland Revenue schemes in conjunction with the Revenue Officers; place comprehensive and cost effective systems for internal and external audit, compliance and risk management; assist in the preparation of the end of year audit; and produce, maintain and submit all statutory financial records of Al-Khair, sufficient to satisfy the requirements of the Government offices, Charity Commissioners, funders and all other relevant bodies within required deadlines. For this role you will need to be educated to a degree level and a part-qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent). You will have demonstrable general financial office experience, ideally within the charity and development sector.
