Our client is a specialist online retail business and due to continued growth they are now looking to recruit a bright and ambitious Assistant Accountant / Accounts Assistant to join the small and friendly head office team. You will be working alongside the Finance Director and a team of three experienced Accounts Clerks and your duties will typically include: Reconciliation work over multiple currencies with a view to finding and resolving errors and omissions over a small group of companies. Total turnover around £40m. Answering auditors questions on reconciled transactions. Supervising Accounts Payable, Receivable and Credit Control. Working with larger customers and suppliers accounts departments and, with the assistance of the team, ensuring that reconciliation to statement is completed and queries managed. Taking responsibility for VAT and other HMRC returns and being the main point of contact for HMRC on any queries. Working positively with the team to continue the evolution and improvement of processes and systems. Communicating with other departments to ensure that the correct information is being received and input to the accounts system.
