Group Tax Accountant - Science & Research - Cambridge - £40k-£55k 11% bonus and benefits Robert Walters are hiring for a Group Tax Accountant for a leading science/research organisation based in Cambridge. This is a permanent full-time position, though some flexible working may be possible. The Group Tax Accountant will work with colleagues across the finance function but will be on a range of finance/tax issues but he or she will primarily be responsible for the corporate tax affairs of the business in the UK, and for working on related direct tax issues, for example Transfer Pricing and R&D tax credits, and capital allowances. The role is biased towards corporate tax compliance and reporting but this person will also provide day-to-day tax advice to the business and will get the opportunity to work with the Tax Manager on tax project work. Responsibilities include: Plan, prepare and submit the UK tax computations, R&D tax credit claims and capital allowances Assist with review of new and international tax issues including patent box, transfer pricing, the worldwide debt cap, interest deductibility and Controlled Foreign Companies risk assessments. Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and year-end tax provision for Group statutory reporting purposes and ensuring that the Sarbanes-Oxley processes are fully complied with. Assist with the preparation of the Group's tax forecasts. Provide day-to-day tax advice to the UK business. Work closely with tax colleagues on planning projects to ensure the impact on UK compliance, forecasting and Group reporting consequences are understood. The company is a industry leader in their particular sector and have a highly respected tax department. The client is looking for someone with good UK corporate tax experience to take on this role. Ideally the candidate will be fully-qualified (ACA / ACCA / ICAS / CTA) but they are also open to considering part-qualified candidates with the right kind of experience. This role would suit someone recently qualified or soon-to-qualify who has been working in a corporate tax role in a medium-to-large size practice who is looking to make their first move into industry into a top-tier organisation offering them development and progression. However it might equally suit someone working in-house already in a Tax Accountant/Tax Advisor role who wants a new challenge with a blue-chip, highly-respected organisation based in Cambridge. The role comes with a salary in the region of £40,000 to £55,000 dependent on your relevant skillset and how much post/pre-qualification experience you have.
