If so, read on. About Us Westcountry Rivers Trust (WRT) is an environmental charity dedicated to restoring and protecting the region's rivers, lakes, estuaries and coastal areas. We work with EU grants, Water Company funded initiatives and government funding to deliver change both in our rivers and on the land that they drain. We're now looking for a highly-organised Bookkeeper to join our team on a part time basis, working 22.5 or 24 hours per week. The Role As a Bookkeeper, you'll perform a range of tasks to support our Finance function. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will: - Process transactions in a timely manner - Support sales and purchase ledger activities - Prepare payroll for our 47 employees - Help with the year end audit - Assist with credit control tasks As part of your role, you may be required to travel to one of our other sites on occasion. About You To join us as a Bookkeeper, you'll need: - Knowledge of Xero or another accountancy package - Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel - A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle (which is insured for business use) - A degree level qualification or equivalent accountancy experience - A great eye for detail and the ability to work to deadlines Ideally, you'll have an understanding of charity accounts and their unique nature, but this isn't essential. Other organisations may call this role Bookkeeper, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Administrator, Accounts Clerk, Finance Assistant, Finance Administrator or Finance Clerk. This is a part time role, working 22.5 hours per week over three days or 24 hours per week over four days.
