Wellbeing of Women is the only charity in the UK funding peer-reviewed pioneering medical research across the whole spectrum of women's reproductive and gynaecological health. Our mission is to improve diagnoses and treatments and find cures and preventions to transform the lives of women and their babies everywhere. Since the charity was established in 1964, we have invested around £54 million in the vital early science which lays the foundations of the major medical breakthroughs. Much of the research we have funded has led to the care and cures which are now part of everyday clinical practice. We are looking to attract a comercially-minded Director of Finance & Resources to work with the Chief Executive and Board in the next phase of our journey, as we look to grow, diversify and invest in all areas of the charity. The Role This role will operate in a strategic capacity and it will be down to you to shape the finance & resources directorate to best suit the needs of the charity, as well as playing an instrumental part of our funding strategy and planning. You will also have management of HR, IT and governance, including appropriate policies and procedures to safeguard the charity and its employees and to manage risk. This is a part-time role and we are flexible as to whether or not this is over 3 or 4 days, depending on how you wish to structure the directorate and your availability. About You You will be a fully qualified accountant with experience of managing both the financial and management accounting functions, as well as developing, delivering and monitoring financial strategy in a UK charity, ideally a fundraising charity. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to manage HR, IT, governance and office management, ideally through past management experience. The ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, is essential. You'll be a highly organised team player, with the ability to problem solve and be comfortable representing the organisation at a senior level. You will have a professional approach to work and be able to work to deadlines with minimal supervision. You will be comfortable being hands-on operationally. To Apply Please apply with an up-to-date CV before the closing date. This search is being managed by our retained partner, Mark Crowley at MLC Partners. If you would like an informal disucssion about the role prior to applying, please contact Mark directly. All third-party applications will be forwarded to MLC Partners.
