Assistant Accountant (part-time)

We now have an exciting opportunity for a part time Assistant Accountant (20 hours - flexible between Tuesday to Friday), ideally part qualified, to join a young exciting company during a period of rapid growth. UniQuest is committed to delivering excellent internal and external client service and requires an individual to become part of the central team to be the main provider of financial information to the senior management group. This is a perfect opportunity to gain great experience through varied work. This role will report into the FD.
Daily financial management tasks to include: Raising of sales invoices Monitoring cash and producing short term cash flow reports Processing of purchase invoices and expenses Checking or signing submitted expenses Dealing with accounts payable and accounts receivable queries Preparing bank payments for approval Credit control Other areas of responsibility: Assisting sales in obtaining PO and producing client invoicing schedules Assist with day to day operations of the finance department, including filing, report generation and budget review Ensuring finance system is utilised efficiently and effectively, introducing new functionality, processes and procedures to make the finance function more efficient Assisting with preparation of financial reports for senior management meetings and executive board meetings Assisting the senior management team with financial analysis for their units including: Monthly spend analysis against budget and forecast Providing ad hoc financial analysis and support to the FD and CEO In addition, this role will provide some holiday and absence cover for the HR admin/office manager. Skills required: Educated to A-level standard or higher. Ideally part-qualified AAT, CIMA, ACCA or QBE Experience in a similar level role, must have transactional experience (AP/AR etc.) Good Excel spreadsheet skills; computer systems/financial systems skills or experience Strong attention to detail; ability to spot inaccuracies and issues; well organised and committed to assist the team and meet deadlines Excellent communication By applying for this role, your details will be sent to Ortolan People, who are acting as consultants for the hiring company.
