Competitive Closing date: May 17th, 2019 Breedon is a leading construction materials group in the UK and Ireland. We operate two cement plants, around 80 quarries, 40 asphalt plants, 170 ready-mixed concrete and mortar plants, nine concrete and clay products plants, four contract surfacing businesses, six import/export terminals and two slate production facilities. We are currently seeking a Management Accountant Assistant based at our head office at Breedon on the Hill near Derby. Reporting to the Regional Management Accountant, you will provide finance administration support to a number of aggregates, asphalt and concrete sites. You will ensure that financial deadlines are met in an accurate and timely manner, costs are allocated and coded correctly, and balance sheet reconciliations are prepared. The key responsibilities of the role are: Participation in Health & Safety awareness and support across the sites Provide support to the Regional Management Accountants in the provision of financial and KPI data Cost analysis by site throughout the month and period end ensuring costs are coded correctly Accounting data analysis by site throughout the month and period end Provision of production statistics and inventory movements and reconciliation Reconciliation of capital expenditure Entry of month end journals for reporting Assist with forecast and budget preparation and analysis for the works and depots To prepare balance sheet reconciliations First-line support for queries Provide holiday cover for the other Accounts Assistants To ensure financial data is accurate and complete and coded correctly To ensure balance sheet reconciliations are performed routinely and any differences are investigated and resolved Ad-hoc queries responded to satisfactory level All other duties or tasks as requested by your line manager You must be able to demonstrate a high level of written and numerical literacy. AAT qualification or part qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) is desirable.
