SSUK Ltd is a successful business looking to extend the Finance function following recent growth. The business currently employs 40 - 50 people and have been in operation for around 15yrs. We are looking for a part-time Financial Controller to join our Senior Management Team. You will be reporting directly to the MD. and assume responsibility for the day to day running for the Finance and Accounts function, delivery of the financial strategy and providing insightful input to support the commercial strategy for this business. You will be someone that is happy to input in to the more strategic elements of this business but also to be operational with the finance and accounts function. As the Financial Controller you will be a qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) and be happy working 2 or 3 days per week. You will have experience of working within an SME and entrepreneurial environment whilst managing a small team. You will be able to demonstrate experience of working within a commercial capacity with a strong business acumen. Your daily responsibilities will incorporate the following:
• Preparation of monthly management accounts, analysing and explaining unexpected variances against budget and prior year, incorporating Board meeting preparation
• Cashflow forecasting:
• Preparation of year end audit file and follow through to sign off-off statutory accounts
• Ensure all HMRC legislation followed and appropriate documentation prepared - including VAT, P11D, HMRC statistical questionnaires etc.
• Payment approval and forecasting of cash movement
• Review and reconcile monthly sales and purchases
• Manage the internal financial audit procedures and controls
• Prepare and return VAT submissions and HMRC returns
• Maintain fixed asset register
• Manage the Payroll
• Lead, manage, coach and support a team of two administrator
