Work Hours: 36 Hours per Week Hackney Council's apprenticeship programme is designed to create quality opportunities for Hackney residents and school leavers. All of our programmes last at least 12 months and combine work, training, and study towards a recognised qualification in a relevant subject. As an apprentice with us, you will receive a competitive salary, holiday entitlement and a package of support. You will spend at least 20% of your time working towards your qualification or taking part in training and development activities. ELIGIBILITY: (Please note that eligibility will be checked) Age: There is no upper limit for our apprenticeships, but we encourage applications from 16-24 year olds, particularly for our Level 2 and 3 apprenticeships. However - Please check each role as some have minimum age requirements. Right to work in the UK: You must hold a British or European Passport or have indefinite leave to remain in the UK. Local link: To be eligible for a Hackney Council Apprenticeship, you must be able to prove that at least one of the following criteria apply to you: You are a Hackney resident AND/OR You are a Hackney school or Hackney college leaver within the past 5 years AND/OR You have ever received support from Hackney leaving care services. Prior education requirements: You should already hold a Level 2 (or GCSE A-C / 4-9) in Maths and English OR Be willing and able to complete qualifications in Maths and English at Level 2 during your apprenticeship training. (Unless you hold an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), a statement of special educational needs (SEN) or a learning difficulty assessment (LDA) in which case you will be assessed individually) Please see information below about the roles currently available. Job Title:
Apprentice Care Worker Qualification: Adult Care Worker Level 2 Housing with care schemes provide support to people, generally over the age of 55, who have both housing, support and care needs. Service users have tenancies with social landlords for their own self-contained flats and the London Borough of Hackney provides the care to service users in all aspects of daily living - our aim is to support people to stay as independent as possible. There are 14 Housing with Care schemes some of which specialize in helping people with similar needs, for example schemes for people with mental health support needs or those with brain injury, whilst other support people who have more generic needs associated with age related infirmities. The post holder will work as part of a team to provide support to service users in all aspects of daily living. This will include supporting service users to engage in activities, to maintain relationships, to undertake domestic tasks, to shop and prepare meals and to support with personal care. All support will be provided with dignity and respect and promote maximum opportunities for choice and independence. This role is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. You will be expected to work shifts as allocated over a 7 day a week rota and this will include evenings and weekends To be eligible for this apprenticeship you must be over the age of 18 and must not already hold a qualification in Adult care. Role 2: Scale 2

Job Title:
Housing Apprentice X3 Qualification: Housing and Property Management Level 3 This is an apprenticeship within Tenancy & the Leasehold service division. The division is split into service areas; Centralised Housing Services, Income Services, Housing Management, Resident Participation & Communities, ASB and Leasehold & Right to Buy Services. These service area present to our residents a genuine effort to treat them with respect and provide them with quality services which addresses their priorities and needs. The apprentice will be assisting experienced staff in delivering a range of front line housing management services including; tenancy and estate management, income collection and recovery, leasehold management, customer services, resident sustainment, voids to-let, estate inspections and resident involvement. You will learn about the journey in the life of a Council's Tenant and Leaseholder, gaining practical experience and understanding around tenancy agreements and the right to buy (RTB) process to becoming a leaseholder. To be eligible for this apprenticeship you must not have already studied Housing and Property management at Level 3 or above. Role 3: Scale 2

Programme Support Apprentice X2 Qualification: Business Administration Level 3 A lack of genuinely affordable homes is a key concern for Hackney's residents, and addressing this is at the heart of the Council's work. That's why Hackney is building. The Council's Regeneration team is building thousands of new homes for social rent, shared ownership and outright sale at more than 30 sites across Hackney. It is leading on the delivery of this in-house programme at all stages - starting with setting the briefs for sites, selecting architects and the wider design teams, managing the design process and procuring contractors or developer partners. As a Programme Support Apprentice in the Regeneration Divisional Programme Office, you'll work across the Division, providing support to programme areas including the Estate Regeneration Programme, the Housing Supply Programme, the regeneration of Woodberry Down and the Housing Strategy and Policy, Private Sector Housing and Economic Regeneration teams. To be eligible for this apprenticeship you must not have already studied Business Administration at Level 3 or above. Role 4: Scale 2

Job Title:
Parking Enforcement Support Apprentice Qualification: Business Administration level 3 This is an apprenticeship within Contracts Team that sits within Parking & Markets Services. Contracts Team are responsible for the management of all on-street and off-street parking enforcement along with management of all parking CCTV provisions. The main objective of the team is to ensure that the roads within London Borough of Hackney are safe, fair and that a free flow of traffic is maintained The apprentice will be responsible for providing day to day support for team, managing reports received from members of the public, coordinating the deployment of Civil Enforcement Officers (CEO) by sending client instructions, keeping daily logs of the enforcement activities taking place, managing complaints and freedom of information requests, participating in enforcement projects, drafting communication to members of the public and liaising with DVLA to obtain details of the registered keeper of the vehicle. Managing online communication channels with members of the public and creating the customer journey process within the existing systems To be eligible for this apprenticeship you must not have already studied Business Administration at Level 3 or above. Role 5: Scale 4

Job Title:
Data Quality Apprentice Qualification: Data Analyst Level 4 (subject to change) The Performance and Improvement Team monitors performance across Adult Services in Hackney by producing management reports for operational and commissioning managers and delivering Adult Social Care statutory returns and surveys to the Department of Health. The team plays a key role in ensuring Adult Services are more effective in the way we deliver our adult social care. You will assist the Performance and Improvement Manager and Adult Services to identify, assess and resolve data quality issues and make recommendations to ensure information is correctly recorded on the case management system in the future. Through this apprenticeship you will learn a varied set of skills, including customer service, the adult social care performance regime, data management, organisation and project management. We are looking for someone who is keen to get the best service for the most vulnerable members of our community through our Adult Social Care Service. This is a key role within the local authority ensuring we are more effective in the way we deliver our adult social care. To be eligible for this apprenticeship you must Already hold a Level 2 (or GCSE A-C / 4-9) in Maths and English and Ideally hold level 3 qualifications or A Levels in relevant subjects. Role 6: Scale 4

Finance Apprentice Qualification: Professional Accounting / Taxation Technician Level 4 (including AAT Level 4) This is an apprenticeship within Finance, supporting various functions and teams during the accounting cycle. Finance play a key role in local authorities, especially during this era of austerity.
