Head of Finance - City Law Firm - up to £120k benefits We are seeking a qualified and experienced Head of Finance to head up the finance function of a successful City based law firm. As the Head of Finance you will assist the CFOO with the management and development of the firm's finance function with a view to improving and developing its financial processes. We are looking for someone professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with solid commercial experience and the ability to demonstrate that they have worked closely with practice areas to improve profitability. You will be responsible for developing and executing the wider finance strategy so strong business acumen is required. Specific responsibilities as the Head of Finance will include: Actively managing and leading the finance team Being the key business partner to the legal practice areas, therefore responsibility for providing insight into the profitability of specific work and clients through the use of profitability and other business intelligence tools Active role in revenue and credit control management Cash flow management and regular oversight and control of the banking facilities, relationships and systems Overseeing the production of management reporting plus annual and quarterly financial reports and statements Maintaining integrity of the company's balance sheet Preparation of quarterly VAT return Ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements Providing leadership, encouragement and management to all members of the team Monitoring individual workflow and capacity Conduct performance appraisals and monitor performance Raising issues with CFOO and HR department as appropriate Plus more The ideal candidate will possess: ACA / CIMA / ACCAqualifications Strong academics including an honours degree - or equivalent Previous experience in a Head of Finance role or a Financial Controller / Senior Commercial Accountant who is looking to step up Experience working in a legal (ideal) or professional services environment- strong commercial experience is a necessity Strong knowledge of UK GAAP Detailed knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules Good business acumen with experience of business partnering Strong leadership skills - experience of managing a team Confident communicator IT literate Analytical and problem solving skills How to apply for this Head of Finance role: If this Head of Finance role is of interest and you possess the qualifications, skills and experience our client is looking for, then please submit your CV as soon as possible, quoting 'LO - Head of Finance'
