The is a broad role in Nottingham reporting directly the Finance Director, with the core purpose of assisting the FD in developing and embedding the systems and reporting required to create value in anticipation of the sale of the business. Lead the production of the management accounts with supporting commentary and analysis Assist the FD in designing and implementing robust internal processes to maximise efficiency, and ensure time can be spent on Value Creating activities Identify, analyse and report key variances Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations Plan and monitor cashflow, to ensure the business expansion needs can be met Implement and monitor effective internal controls to minimise risk and manage expenditure Statutory reporting such as VAT, ONS Design, implement and monitor internal accounting policies Remain up to date with all appropriate Financial Reporting Standards Lead a team of five and be responsible for their professional development Liaise with the transactional team and build relationships with the Store, Sales and Warehousing teams This is a broad role, with scope for development and progression. You will get good visibility of the business as a whole, and be in a position to have an impact and add value. Desired Candidate: This Management Accountant position will suit a technically astute, commercially minded individual who is keen to learn in a high responsibility role. To maximise success, the ideal candidate will be: A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) Have a strong ability to communicate at all levels, to finance and non-finance persons Capable handling debits and credits Able to demonstrate excellent excel capability Able to perform well in a highly structured environment Able to demonstrate understanding of cost variance Ability to identify commercial opportunities and risk Process driven with a strong desire to continually improve their deliverables My client is a specialist manufacturing in Nottingham, retail and wholesale SME, with a distribution network across Europe, and an extensive logistics operation.
