We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accounts Assistant , to join our friendly Finance team based in Letchworth Garden City . The position will be working 22.5 hours per week , on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Altro are a leading British manufacturer and supplier of premium flooring and wall cladding systems for construction and transport. As a Senior Accounts Assistant , your responsibilities will include: Prepare foreign cash advances and process expenses when returned Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis and physically verify cash balances Maintain Employee Benefit Trust cashbook and prepare monthly shares reconciliation Prepare and submit online monthly Intrastat returns and EC Sales returns Receive payment requests, process appropriately and obtain authorisations Process three day, same day and foreign payments on banking software Process cheque requests from appropriate bank account Post all payments to JDE Create, check and amend BACS reports (£ and foreign) on a weekly basis Provide cover for Cashier when Credit Control Administrator is unavailable Prepare petty cash journals for Autoglym, Resins and Walls Keep import VAT records and complete a monthly check while liaising with import agents as needed Arrange foreign cash withdrawals from bank as needed What are we looking for? A confident individual with good organisational skills and ability to work on own initiative Accurate with excellent attention to detail Good communicator - verbal and written Effective time manager with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Previous experience in dealing with multi-currency transactions, Intrastat returns, BACS payments and VAT. JDEdwards (or similar) system experience essential.
