The Head of Financial Control is a very broad role that offers an excellent opportunity to hold accountability for not only financial control and our accounting services teams but to also lead various projects. Reporting to the Finance Director, this senior role manages and leads the financial control and reporting team to provide financial, business partner and management accounting services to the CEO, FD, Directors and members. The Individual: This will cover all areas of the organisation's financial transactions and will contribute actively in support of the long-term strategic direction and growth of the organisation You will be responsible for leading the Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Credit Control teams We are looking for an experienced senior finance professional with financial acumen and with experience of leading a broad team With a commercial mind-set, the candidate will enjoy working with the wider business as well as running the finance function The individual will be influential, proactive and inspirational, relating well with senior colleagues and their own team You will be a fully qualified accountant and have effective communication skills with people at all levels from support staff to the board You will need to be ambitious and highly self-motivated in order to be successful within the role. Financial management and reporting systems budgeting, reporting and forecasting Providing functional leadership to professional specialists Developing and delivering longer term departmental plans fitting the broader strategy Cross-organisational reporting and business analysis, including reports, dashboards and ad-hoc support for business boards and Directors You will lead the financial planning and reporting processes ensuring that the organisation remains financially strong and sustainable You will lead the annual budget process, using zero-based budgeting principles, using your gravitas and experience to support budget holders Staff management including appraisals and development plan Representing finance in meetings with other departments Cash flow forecasting
