Hastings Direct, Trainee Assistant Accountant We are looking for a Trainee Assistant Accountant to join our: finance team, based in the Bexhill office. This is a four year programme designed to find and develop our future finance leaders. This is a non-graduate scheme, candidates qualified at A-level standard are eligible. Programme Overview; The programme spans the whole of finance, supporting key accounting teams with 5 placements all lasting nine months. Within these placements Trainees will develop the core competencies expected of a finance professional, such as planning and forecasting, reporting and business performance management, alongside the characteristics which will make them a great asset to those teams and prepares them for taking on a position of responsibility and leadership in the future. We will also provide full funding and support to gain the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification and Trainees are expected to place emphasis on qualification within the 4 year time period. Over the four years of the programme you will take on 5 challenging placements each lasting nine months. The placement could be within the following areas, however new placements may be added to the scheme during the scheme period;
• Financial Accounts
• Financial Reporting
• Business Partnership (Analyst)
• Management Reporting and Planning
• Tax During each placement, relevant and challenging work will be allocated to provide a broad and comprehensive understanding of the function and the wider business. The placements will be chosen at least one month before the end of the current placement in view of your development needs and career goals, however placements in specific areas cannot be guaranteed. Requirements
• Ability to take the lead
• Clear on their strengths and development areas and build a well-recognised brand around their strengths
• Ability to contribute to the conversation
• Able to challenge the norm, consider a range of views and drive and embed change
• Sound understanding of how the business works
• Agility and ability to move from task to task quickly and handle many things at once
• A levels (or equivalent) at B and above - relevant Maths A levels desirable
