This Commercial Finance Manager's job in Edinburgh is a great opportunity for a commercially-minded accountant to join a relatively small, yet internationally focussed business in a real, value-add role. Based in the centre of Edinburgh, the Commercial Finance Manager will work with a range of stakeholders at a local, national and international level both within and outwith finance. As Commercial Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the UK Group's annual budget, whilst maintaining tight financial discipline. You will prepare the budget in conjunction with various different stakeholders, providing frequent and detailed variance analysis, whilst keeping the Board abreast of any potential overspends and advising of the appropriate corrective action. As Commercial Finance Manager, you will keep a close eye on cash, ensuring that any potential overspends are accounting for and appropriate remedial action is taken as appropriate. You'll be encouraged to manage and develop relationships with lenders and undertake any additional project work as requested by the Chief Financial Officer. To be successful, it is envisaged that you will be a fully qualified accountant with post-qualifying experience in a commercially-focussed role. You should have a proper understanding of "cost" and be able to support non-finance stakeholders understand the challenges and complexities of their business unit from a finance perspective. Well developed Excel and reporting skills will be taken as a given, and it's assumed that you'll have the confidence and gravitas to influence at a senior level - up to and including CEO level.
