Description
- Ensure robust financial management is in place across the organisation.
- Provide line management of central finance staff organisation.
- Provide oversight and operational direction for all financial matters across the organisation.
- Deliver an excellent standard of customer service to the stakeholders and line managers within the organisation.
- Lead on accurate financial information to the Board and other stakeholders.
- Plan and carry out key financial activity including budgeting, forecasting and management accounting.
- Develop key peer relationships and external liaison with relevant professional organisations, as well as providing technical guidance and support to senior leaders and finance staff within the organisation
- Take the lead role in the preparation of the annual accounts for the organisation in conjunction with the organisations appointed auditors and the COO.
- Be the key point of contact for the Trust's external and internal auditors and ensure all audit requirements and resultant recommendations are carried out.
- Line manage relevant organisations finance staff and support the appointment, development, induction and planning of financial teams/functions.
- Ensure that accurate management accounts (including income & expenditure and balance sheet) and other reports are produced, in accordance with the Board's requirements.
- Oversee the fixed asset register.
- Manage the Trust's reserves in line with the Trust's Reserves Policy and provide reports to the Board as requested.
- Carry out returns to external bodies.
- Complete the organisations VAT returns and manage all aspects of VAT.
Profile
- Qualified accountant
- Significant experience of the development and preparation of monthly management accounts including cash flow statements and balance sheets
- Experience of managing a successful audit, including the preparation of financial statements
- Experience of running an annual budget process
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical attention to detail together with an ability to understand the organisations strategic and operational objectives
- Self-motivated and pro-active in managing own workload, functioning effectively under pressure to deliver work to deadlines and to a high quality
- Excellent ICT skills including Excel, word, financial databases
- Ability to be a strong motivator
- Committed to continuing professional development
Job Offer
By joining the organisation as Finance Manager you'll recieve:
£35,000-£38,000 (offered depending on experience.)
