Role description The Assistant Manager/Manager role includes the following activities: Quickly developing an understanding of the client and the drivers for integration/ separation Interpretation and analysis of information memoranda, business plans, historical financial information and publicly available information Review of organisational structures and business operating models Working across the whole deal lifecycle, from pre-deal synergy reviews and the development of integration or separation strategies to day 1 planning and post-deal implementation programme delivery Engaging with senior managers and executives on programme priorities and issues Evaluation of potential synergies and identification of risk or price affecting matters Developing your consulting skills in strategic thinking, programme and change management Developing your expertise in reporting to senior executives, facilitating large workshops, benefits tracking, risk and issue management, change control and stakeholder management. Location You will be based in a Deloitte office, however this is a projects based role and you will be required to be based at client site when needed. Our clients are varied, and vary in industry and location. Whilst some clients are London based, we do work with clients across the UK and globally. Hours This is a permanent role with a degree of travel and work at client site. However we are open to discussing both formal and informal flexible working arrangements that allow for the best outcomes for our people and our clients. Responsibilities Develop strong long-term client relationships and become recognised as a trusted business advisor Support the delivery of major projects and programmes including running a PMO. This will involve assisting with the design and development of programme or project initiatives for clients and assisting teams to deliver against client objectives Lead on specific programme or project management disciplines e.g. scoping and planning, business case development, benefit and milestone tracking, issue/risk management Assessing and developing current and target operating models either for particular functions or the business as a whole Supporting the development of key documents for a transaction e.g. Transitional Service Schedules, synergy cases, reports or papers addressing certain strategic issues Stakeholder management and communications Support engagement management, including developing fee estimates, managing budgets and billing clients Contribute to practice development eg. through the development of thought leadership material Contribute to the growth of the practice, by leading new business proposals and presentations and developing new business Effectively manage teams for the delivery of client work whilst also playing a role in the career development of more junior team members Managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution Requirements Previous experience in working with client teams to design strategies for integration/separation projects Experience of assisting with the design, development and delivery of numerous programmes or project initiatives Analysis of business models and development of target operating models Experience of change management and transformation initiatives e.g. Technological or business process changes Strong financial analysis skills Experience of operating with senior level stakeholders Excellent written and verbal communication skills for the purposes of clearly communicating to clients, stakeholders and teams Good problem solving and analytical skills Degree qualified (minimum 2:1) or equivalent experience Full travel mobility The ability to present clearly in client meetings and pitches Candidates should demonstrate the attributes required to operate independently but within a small experienced team, in a time pressured environment, with senior client members.
