The successful accounts assistant will have the following

responsibilities:
Ensure the correct and efficient processing of supplier invoices within Oracle financials To be performed on a timely basis (generally within one week of receipt), and in accordance with supplier payment terms Maintain accurate files of invoices Responsible for making payments to suppliers in various currencies Maintain accurate and complete paperwork related to payments, with details of the invoices and credit notes included in each payment. This to be done separately for each payment, by currency Work with colleagues and suppliers to resolve any queries and ensure timely payment of invoices, with clear and concise communication via telephone, email, formal letter and in person as necessary and appropriate Obtain and reconcile supplier statements on a regular basis Reconciliation of AP sub-ledger / AR sub-legder to general ledger account within month end deadlines, and prompt investigation and resolution of any reconciling items Ensuring that any open items relating to the above processes are resolved within month end deadlines Generating sales invoices from Oracle system and distributing to customers at least weekly, and as necessary to meet customer requirements Allocating sales invoices to cash receipts from customers on the Oracle system, in accordance with customer remittances/instructions Work with colleagues and customers to resolve any queries and ensure timely payment of invoices by customers, through clear and concise communication via telephone, email, formal letter and in person as necessary and appropriate Cash payments and receipts: Upload bank transactions from Barclays.net to Oracle Cash Manager. Timely processing of credit card transactions and expense Other ad-hoc work required to support the rest of the finance team The sucessful accounts assistant will have the following key skills: 2 - 3 years experience of accounts assisting Part qualified ACCA or AAT qualified Accountant and/or relevant experience as demonstrated by: Good working knowledge of processing of transactions, reconciliations, and month end procedures; Knowledge of financial processes Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills. Good communication skills for working both within the department and with other customers. Ability to write clear and concise emails. Good numerical skills and desire to develop analytical skills. Understands and appreciates the wider impact of the work undertaken. Ability to conduct a "Self-review" of work completed before submission. Drive to broaden knowledge and progress.
