As the Group Accountant you will take full accountability for the numbers and will support with the Financial accounting and compliance of the group businesses as well as get involved with various ad hoc projects.

Client Details

The client is a leading manufacturer.


Ensuring that all entities within the group are following the correct accounting standards

Providing the information that is needed for group reporting purposes.

Full understanding of company profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow

Deliver smooth month-end closing & consolidation process

Maintain robust internal control environment

Conduct balance sheet reviews - ledger & reconciliation review / validation and provision review

Conduct balance sheet reviews - ledger & reconciliation review / validation and provision review

The delivery of management and statutory reporting, including analysis and supporting information

Supporting the line manager with the co-ordination of the annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and strategic planning processes

Liaising with external Advisors in relation to audit, taxation and other areas

Managing the team to ensure all deadlines are met, accounts and reports are accurate and statutory obligations adhered to

Working with line manager on all statutory reporting requirements

Commercial analysis and M&A activity

Weekly sales flash and order book reporting

Monthly head office accounting for non-trading entities

Ad hoc projects


  • A fully qualified Chartered Accountant

  • Have experience of IFRS and UK GAAP

  • Consolidation experience

  • Excellent communication skills with a genuine ability to interact at all levels

  • A desire to get involved in the commercial aspects of the business

  • Technically strong with management accounts and manufacturing background.

  • Commercial and business awareness.

  • Knowledge and an understanding of best practice internal control systems, processes and procedures.

  • Strong knowledge of IT and information systems, including advanced Excel.

  • At least 2 years' experience of working in a financial role within a Manufacturing environment

  • Experience of working with cross-functions within a business.

  • Experience of delivering information at site level.
