Your new company
Your new company is a well-established manufacturing business based locally in Nelson, Lancashire. Due to an internal change, they are now looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your new role
In your new role, you will be reporting directly to the Finance Manager, where you will be responsible for assisting in the day to day running of the accounts department. Your role will be extremely varied and will include overseeing the sales ledger, processing returns, credit notes and reconciliation. You will also manage the purchase ledger, processing the purchase invoices, matching invoices to PO numbers of which are high value due to the niche customer product. You will assist with the weekly payroll of 45 employees, collating and inputting timesheets, pension assessments onto Sage 50 payroll. Finally, you will be responsible for the credit control, chasing debt, issuing statements and ensuring excellent customer service. This is a full time role, working 08:45 - 5:15 Monday to Thursday with a 3pm finish on a Friday afternoon.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful for this role, you should hold a minimum of the AAT level 2 qualification, with a desire to progress further. Alternatively, if you do not obtain an AAT, you should have experience to support your knowledge. You will need to have an excellent understanding of payroll, creditors, debtors and foreign currency transactions. Preferably, you will have Sage 200 experience and be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Excel.
