Help us understand our customers and drive sales in your placement year We need an exceptional undergraduate to join us for a placement year. We are offering a 12-month industrial placement within our Financial Services department based at either our office in Bolton or Milton Keynes. You will work with the Commercial Analytics Team who provide insights into the performance of products across the Argos Financial Services portfolio. The role will support the Argos Financial Services business to monitor all aspects of the "customer value chain" from Acquisition through to Customer management for all AFS products. About your placement This is an opportunity to put the theory you are learning at University into practice and gain invaluable hands on experience in a big business environment. You will be given ownership from the get-go and will be supported and guided along the way by your line manager. As a Junior Commercial Analyst you will: Ensure the upkeep, creation, updating and production of Commercial insight reports, ensuring accuracy and understanding to be able to update the business. Provide standalone insight to answer key business questions, utilising skills in SQL and Excel in order to extract information from disparate data sources. Develop control standards within reporting and analysis to ensure team continuity and to improve on efficiency, output and accuracy. As a Junior Commercial Analyst your experience will include: You will currently be working towards a numerate degree that involves a level of Statistics, Maths or Programming languages. You will be proficient in the use of general computing packages such as Word and Excel. A basic knowledge of data manipulation and analysis using SQL or SAS language. Great communication skills to be able to communicate technical solutions and analysis to non-technical people. Next steps: Applicants with relevant experience will be invited to complete a video interview as a first stage process. If successful, we will then invite you for an assessment day in Bolton/Milton Keynes in May 2019. As this role involves working in an FCA regulated environment any offer will be subject to satisfactory background checks including Credit Check, Criminal Record Check & Fraud Database Check.
