Hull Ref: 4709BM A Financial Controller is required for growing manufacturing / construction business based in West Hull. Reporting into the Managing Director, you will head up the finance department as they are bringing the accounting function in house and manage a small team. Your responsibilities will include;
• Preparation of financial information, including the commercial interpretation and flagging up of key issues
• Business modelling to include the analysis of financial pressure points, risks, strategic plans and other associated issues
• Ensure the effective management of cash and working capital, consistent with the operational needs of the business
• To ensure timely and accurate presentation of management accounts, project profitability and information on the performance of the business including the ongoing improvement of the quality and usefulness of the information provided
• To ensure timely and accurate preparation of statutory accounts and that statutory reporting requirements are effectively fulfilled
• To ensure timely and accurate presentation of the annual budget by coordinating the process and preparing analysis to explain and support the information provided
• To manage the business plan of the department, with emphasis up on people management and training needs. You will also manage a team of 2 people.
• To manage the UK tax position in order to minimise the charge and payments on account whilst managing any potential exposure
• To prepare financial models which clearly demonstrate the impact of potential courses of action on the profitability and the cashflows of the business
• To provide support, analysis and advice on financial, accounting and administrative matters throughout the business
• To ensure corporate filing responsibilities, including VAT, statistical information, corporation tax filing are fulfilled on a timely and accurate basis To be the successful Financial Controller, you will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with experience working in a manufacturing business. You will have worked in a similar role within finance and enjoy working on strategic projects in the business.
