You will be integral to improving processes, whilst overseeing and managing the day to day finance function including cashflow management, accounts receivables, and financial reporting. You also will lead and motivate finance team members by setting clearly defined goals and providing guidance when needed. Who would this role be great for? This role would be ideal for an ambitious finance controller or audit trained newly ACA qualified accountant looking to make the move to controller. You need to be a confident self-starter, a natural solution orientated problem solver, with good analytical skills and the resilience to thrive in a fast-paced environment and with the temperament and collaboration skills to work alongside other parts of the business. This role is about technical problem solving, efficiency, people management and providing the business with the most cost-effective solutions. You should be comfortable with working on projects as well as in a team, making sure that you take ownership and responsibility of any challenge that presents itself. Main Duties and Key Responsibilities Support the Finance Director in the robust financial management of the business Implement updates and improvements to accounting systems and processes, including invoicing/revenue recognition, collections, stock control and payroll Timely delivery of month-end and year-end financial reports Actively implement and manage the credit control function and demonstrate material improvement in collections Assist the Finance Director and FP&A Manager in presenting reports to the board and other stakeholders when required Take responsibility of the annual audit process Person Specification ACA Qualified Accountant Audit experience of SMEs Analytical approach to problem solving, able to gather accurate and complete data Capacity to think outside the box and come up with solutions SQL knowledge highly desirable SAP experience advantageous Excellent Excel skills A good sense of humour, fun to have in the team and unflappable style A fast learner with an ability to pick up how to use new systems Ability to run concurrent work streams simultaneously and switch seamlessly between tasks Fearless and unphased by tackling new challenges
