Senior Financial Controller NO AGENCIES - THANK YOU Previous Applicants need not apply Based at Renault Truck Commercials in Nuneaton, Warks £65k-£75k basic salary dependent on experience, Bonus up to 20% Company Car/Allowance Benefits Job Summary: Support commercial and operational business on a day to day basis in line with internal financial control processes, providing support and input into long term strategic plans to improve business performance and secure commercial risks are duly managed and anticipated. Main Tasks / Responsibilities / Authorities: This is an active position within RTC's Senior Management Team covering:- Management of the regional budget, operating expenses, forecast process and reporting requirements Providing financial and commercial support to the business Providing strategic analysis to assist long term business planning and decision making Proactive involvement in on-going business improvement projects - i.e. cost management Providing financial analysis and corrective actions that contribute to the improvement of overall business performance Responsibility for the closure and sign off of RTC Truck Centre financial statements at month end Responsible for regular reporting the forecast on New Truck Inventory Review statistics and reports on Parts Stock and Turnover Support Parts Manager with Dealer meetings and improvement plans Developing direct reports through coaching and support. Coach and mentor Dealer Managers on financial reporting Oversee the regional Trade Debtors, Overdues and Customer queries Oversee Warranty & Contract Claims/Rejections Challenge dealerships on the controls of aged work in progress Challenge Accounting Services on processes and procedures to ensure a smooth, quick service delivery Analyse and comment on Return on Capital Employed for the region Identify and report on key areas within the Dealer Bonus scheme Delivering twice-yearly cost management workshops to Aftersales Area Managers and Dealer Managers Attend Business Review meetings with key stakeholders Involved in quarterly Property review meetings Preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly business reports in accordance with local management and Group requirements Work closely with Group Business Control and Accounting Company & Control (UK) to ensure consistent application of Group Financial Policies and Procedures Act as the point of contact for the Group Business Controller and his / her team Key Skills / Competencies: Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of accounting standards. Understanding of Retail Business environment. (desirable) Planning, budgeting and forecasting skills. Ability to exercise good commercial judgement to improve business performance. Ability to create logical and objective business proposals. Proactive and self-motivated approach towards identification of business issues and problem solving. Experience of managing people Ability to transform business objectives into quantifiable targets and actions. Knowledge of financial control and risk management. Ability to build effective working relationships across all business areas. Ability to influence at all levels of the business. Education/Professional Qualifications and Experience required for the position: Bachelor's Degree or AAT qualification. Professional Accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) In-depth experience of commercial environment in a financial management role Additional important requirements: Experience of Dealer Business (desirable) Willingness to travel throughout the UK as required Please state your salary expectations when submitting your cv.
