This is a fantastic Senior Management Accountant role in a growing Media Agency, with a broad remit across revenue and core elements of Finance. This makes it a great step towards a Finance Manager or Financial Controller role in the near future, in a company that offers genuine opportunities to progress. Reporting to the Financial Controller, your key responsibilities will include:
• Revenue Accounting:
• Month end tasks to verify client revenues, which includes overseeing the accrued and deferred income balance sheet accounts
• Working with the business Client teams and Operations teams each month, to create reliable and accurate monthly revenue accruals
• Review and approve billable and unbillable client travel & expenditure
• Responsibility to ensure the accurate submission of all month-end balance sheets and income statements
• Reconciliation of all rebates contractually due back to clients
• Continuous improvements in the processes for reporting Revenues
• General Accounting, including Balance Sheet:
• Responsibility to work with teams offshore and in London to ensure consistent, accurate and timely reporting
• Reviewing and finalising monthly management accounting for revenue, costs and expenses, accruals and prepayments, for multiple brands within tight deadlines
• Analysing and reporting on changes to revenue, and revenue-related balance sheet lines, Month-on-month, Year to date and against Forecast
• Completing balance sheet account reconciliations for high risk or subjective accounts to ensure all risk items are identified and actively managed
• Reviewing and approving balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by offshore accounting teams to ensure risks and open items are being resolved
• Management Reporting :
• Forecasting, supporting the preparation of forecast data each quarter
• Internal & External audit
• Key involvement in internal and external audits, including the preparation of information requests for review by the FC/FD.
• Intercompany accounting:
• Review and sign off Intracompany and Intercompany reconciliations
• Projects:
• Assist the Director of FR&A with any projects, particularly process standardisation Ideal candidate
• ACA/ CIMA/ ACCA qualified accountant. The ideal candidate is likely to have a minimum 1-2 years PQE
• Previous experience of accounting for Revenues
• Previous experience of both Management and Financial Accounting
• Advanced user of Excel
• Proven experience of successful collaboration between finance and non-finance people
• Prior experience in a commercial finance / business partnering role.
• Experience in Commerce is essential (as opposed to public practice) with Media / marketing communications sector experience desirable
